ITINERARY
AT A GLANCE
Every morning will begin with a typical Andalusian breakfast spread and every evening will conclude with botanical cocktails and mocktails on the terrace or by the fireplace. All meals will be prepared on site by a private chef featuring sustainable, local, organic produce, meat and dairy.
GETTING STARTED
FRIDAY MARCH 7
A morning yoga class will be available before we head out into the woods to visit an off-grid village where we will be harvesting the first of the plants we will be working with.
Today will be spent processing and preparing plants for their use throughout the week.
In the afternoon we will visit the local community for a look around and an opportunity to do some shopping.
HANDS-ON
SATURDAY MARCH 8
A light walk in the forest will be available before we get started creating our first skincare products, starting with preparing herbal oils, we will move on to making a healing salve, lip balm, solid shampoo, and more.
An afternoon excursion to the Peña de Arias Montano near Alajar will be offered.
DISTILLING
SUNDAY MARCH 9
After some morning yoga at the farmhouse we will begin our process of distilling herbal waters which will be used in our cream making.
In the evening we will visit a traditional local alcohol distillery and museum.
ECOPRINT & FLAMENCO
MONDAY MARCH 10
This morning's hike will take us back to our off-grid village where we will be visiting the wood-fired oven that our bread comes from. After we return, we will head out to Finca Ebaye where we will be gathering plants to create our own botanical imprints on a cotton tote bag with Humana Ecoprint. In the evening we will be visiting our local wood-fired pizza oven where a private flamenco concert and workshop will be waiting for us.
SOAP MAKING & ESSENTIAL OILS
TUESDAY MARCH 11
After some morning yoga at the farmhouse, we will head out to Finca Valconejos for our natural soap workshop and tour of the essential oils laboratory. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch and learn more about distilling at Finca La Farruca.
FACE CREAM CREATION
WEDNESDAY MARCH 12
Our final full day at the farmhouse will start with yoga and will be primarily focused on the production of creams. We will be covering natural methods of preserving and will be discussing the use of the biodynamic lunar calendar in the harvesting and processing of natural cosmetics.
In the afternoon we will return to the local off-grid village to enjoy the weekly Tea Room featuring handmade desserts and a variety of hot drinks.
PARTICIPATION
To participate in all of these activities, namely the harvesting and the visit to the oven, each participant will want to feel comfortable with a one mile walk on moderate hiking trails.
All activities and meals are included in the price and participation is optional.
There will be free time every day to enjoy the local surroundings. A variety of hiking trails leave from the immediate vicinity of the guest house.
